Domestic electronics manufacturer iBall Technologies on Wednesday launched the most affordable laptop - CompBook - at a starting price of Rs 9,999.
Micromax had launched another laptop earlier which comes at a price of Rs 10,459.
CompBook, which is a sub-brand of iBall, will be available across most retail stores and has currently three variants - Excelance (11.6-inch) and Exemplaire (14-inch) - priced at Rs 9,999 and Rs 13,999 respectively. The business or enterprise edition will be available at a price of Rs 19,999.
“Our latest product is focused on innovation with pricing, as we understand the needs of the youth in the country who are looking at more affordable yet smart devices,” Sandeep Parasrampuria, director and CEO of iBall, said adding that “the new products will look to democratise the computing needs of every Indian”.
The Windows-10 powered devices comes with a Intel quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM and internal storage space of 32 GB which can be expanded to 64 GB. The laptop will sport an HDMI port, two USB ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack along with connectivity options like WiFi and Bluetooth.
In addition, the laptop will come with an insurance pack which will include accidental damage, theft and breakage and an additional one year of warranty.
