Apple iPhone SE, 9.7-inch iPad Pro now available in India

Indian consumers can buy Apple’s new devices -- the iPhone SE and iPad Pro -- from Friday.
With Beetel Teletech Limited and Redington India as key distributors, iPhone SE will be available in two variants -- 32GB and 64GB at Rs 39,000 and Rs 49,000. The smaller iPad Pro tablet will be available in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB variants. The tablet is available in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi+cellular models.
The 32, 128 and 256 GB Wi-Fi only models are priced at Rs 49,900, Rs 61,900 and Rs 73,900 respectively. The pricing for Wi-Fi+cellular models are: 32GB Rs 61,900, 128GB Rs 73,900 and 256GB Rs 85,900.
The iPhone SE has an Apple A9 processor, 12-megapixel iSight (rear) camera with 4K video support and Apple Pay with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, from the iPhone 6s. All packed into the tiny body of the iPhone 5s. The SE claims to be a better performer in terms of battery life and speed as a by-product of having a tiny 4-inch Retina display that barely uses any resources unlike the larger ones on 6s and 6s Plus.
The new phone will also be available at resellers and also some Airtel and Vodafone stores. However, it’s already reaching the “out of stock” status in some countries.
On the other hand, the new iPad will sport a 9.7-inch display, a 2GB RAM and a A9X chipset. Along with four speakers, the tablet will come with a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and a five-megapixel front camera.
India launch of the devices is part of the second wave of the iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro launch. In the first wave, Apple’s new devices were launched in 13 countries (on March 24) including US, UK, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and Singapore.
